Southern-inspired recipes for pork: pork chops (finally!) and Ham and Cider Soup. I shared a time ago that there are about half a dozen foods that I have tried to make over the years, but each attempt at cooking them resulted in a meal that fell short of my expectations. Why Are YOU Here?

Perhaps you have been told by your doctor (or your mom) that you need to eat healthier. Perhaps that nagging feeling has caught up with you on its own. No matter how you got here, I am hoping to help.

I have been a devoted foodie for as long as I can remember, with special interest in family and nutrition (as well as ethnic food). I know what it is like to want to eat better, but to have time and money restrictions, not to mention synthesizing different palates around the dinner table. I began marriage with little knowledge about how to cook and a newly-declared vegetarianism. Since then, our diet has been an adventure with the background of our small kitchen. We are no longer vegetarians, we are no longer DINKs, but we still have a small kitchen and a small budget and every intention of eating well and eating to our health!

This is where the rubber meets the road. Feel free to come here as we slowly unravel the mysteries of cooking with tips, recipes, and discussions of the finer points, all in a very accessible way. The goal is to get you in and out of the kitchen and back to all the other things that populate your day. That's what food is about, anyway: getting energy and vitality, and communing with others.

To your health and your enjoyment!
